A brushless DC motor is the electromechanical energy conversion component. Besides the motor armature and permanent magnet excitation system, it also includes sensors. The motor itself is the core of the brushless DC motor, affecting performance indicators, noise and vibration, reliability, and lifespan. Its characteristics include:
- It can replace DC motor speed control, inverter + variable frequency motor speed control, and asynchronous motor + reducer speed control;
- It retains the advantages of traditional DC motors while eliminating carbon brushes and slip rings;
- It can operate at low speeds and high power, eliminating the need for a reducer to directly drive large loads;
- It is small in size, lightweight, and has high output power;
- It has excellent torque characteristics, good torque performance at medium and low speeds, high starting torque, and low starting current;
- It offers stepless speed regulation, a wide speed range, and strong overload capacity;
- It features soft start and soft stop, and good braking characteristics, eliminating the need for traditional mechanical or electromagnetic braking devices;
- It has high efficiency, as the motor itself has no excitation losses or carbon brush losses, eliminating multi-stage reduction losses, resulting in a comprehensive energy saving rate of 20% to 60%.
- High reliability, good stability, strong adaptability, and simple maintenance;
- Resistant to bumps and vibrations, low noise, minimal vibration, smooth operation, and long service life;
- Does not produce sparks, especially suitable for explosive environments, explosion-proof type available;
- Trapezoidal wave magnetic field motor and sinusoidal wave magnetic field motor are available as needed.
